Camp Rules & Regulations.

We're a family campground nestled in Vernon Township, NJ.

These simple guidelines help keep our campground safe, clean, and enjoyable for all guests.

We want everyone to have a great time at Woodland Trails.

By checking in, guests agree to these guidelines.
Woodland Trails reserves the right to ask guests who don't comply to leave.
We're not responsible for personal injury, theft, or property damage —
outdoor adventures come with inherent risks.

🐻 Bear Aware
We're in Sussex County black bear territory! Please store all food, coolers, and scented items in your vehicle or camper when not in use. Use the bear-resistant dumpsters for all trash. No exceptions do not leave your food out. 

🏕️ Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in from 3:30-8:00PM | Check-out by 11:00 AM

  • Register at the office when you arrive

  • Late checkout may result in an additional night's charge

🌙 Quiet Hours

  • 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM

  • Please be mindful of your neighbors — we're all here to relax

🚗 Vehicles

  • 7 MPH speed limit — kids and walkers are everywhere!

  • 2 cars per site. Additional fee per vehicle 

  • Park in your designated spot only

  • No ATVs or dirt bikes on the property

🔥Fires

  • Use designated fire rings only

  • No outside wood

  • Never leave a fire unattended and fully extinguish before bed

  • No burning trash or plastic please

  • We follow all NJ fire ban orders — check with the office if unsure

🗑️ Keep It Clean

  • No littering — it attracts wildlife and affects everyone's experience

  • Use the dumpsters daily and leave your site tidy at checkout

  • Campsites must be clean and tidy at all times

  • A $50 cleaning fee applies to sites left in poor condition

🎲 Borrowed Equipment 

  • Items borrowed from the office (games, tools, equipment, etc.)

  • Must be returned promptly at checkout

  • Items not returned will be charged to the guest on file

🐾 Pets

  • Keep pets on a leash (6 ft max) and clean up after them

  • Pets are not allowed in bathhouses, the pool area, or playground

  • Please be considerate — not everyone loves dogs as much as we do!

🏖️ Lake, Swimming, and Boating

  • No lifeguard on duty — swim at your own risk

  • Kids under 14 need an adult present at the pool

  • Play nice and follow posted pool rules

  • No swimming alone

  • Beach is closed when management is not on premises

🚫 A Few Hard No's

  • No fireworks

  • No illegal substances

  • No feeding or approaching wildlife

  • No smoking in public areas

  • No glass

  • No outside firewood

  • No fighting

  • No weapons of any kind

  • No clotheslines

  • No washing RVs

  • No appliances, furniture, tires, paint, chemicals, or construction debris

  • No vehicle maintenance or repair without management approval

  • No underage drinking. Alcohol is to be consumed only on registered campsites only by those 21 or older. All drugs and narcotics are strictly prohibited and enforced by campground staff and the VTPD

📝 Registration & Visitors

  • All guests must register at the office upon arrival

  • Overnight guests must be listed on your reservation

  • Visitors must obtain a day pass and follow all rules

  • Campers are responsible for informing visitors of rules

  • Non‑compliant visitors will be asked to leave

🌲 All Guests

  • No subleasing

  • No refunds for special weekends or early departures

  • Cancellations must be made 96 hours before arrival (except special weekends)

  • Rule violations may result in removal without refund

  • Zero Tolerance Policy: If law enforcement is called for any reason other than medical/fire emergencies, you must leave without refund

  • Woodland Trails is service‑oriented, not a landlord; no lease contracts; prices may change anytime

🚿 Facilities

  • Keep shower houses clean

  • Campground is not responsible for personal items

  • Children 17 and under must be supervised

🏡 At Your Site

  • Keep your site clean and orderly

  • Bag trash and bring it to the dumpster

  • No cigarette butts on the ground

  • Only household garbage allowed in dumpster​

  • Sewer lines must be leak‑free with proper “donut” or threaded connection

  • Outdoor items must be neat and secured

  • Generators allowed only during emergencies

  • Do not remove picnic tables from other sites — group use requires office approval

🤝 Conduct

  • Respect fellow campers

  • Disorderly conduct will not be tolerated

  • Parents are responsible for their children and pets, including damages

📅 Monthly Sites

  • Month = 30 days

  • Payment due on Day 1

  • Late fee: $30/day

  • Returned check fee: $50

  • Must stay full 30 days for monthly rate

  • Early departure charged at weekly/daily rates

  • Credit card required on file for automatic billing

  • Notify office one week in advance if leaving early

  • Protect sewer lines during yard maintenance

  • Regular mail should be sent to a local PO Box

  • Leaving early without 7‑day notice results in an additional week’s charge

⚖️ Liability Disclaimer

Woodland Trails Campground, its owners, employees, and agents shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, theft, or damage to person or property arising from a guest's stay, to the fullest extent permitted under New Jersey law. Camping and outdoor recreation involve inherent risks — including but not limited to wildlife encounters, terrain, weather, fire, and water activities — and guests assume all such risks by entering the property. This disclaimer does not limit liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct as prohibited by applicable law.
